A massive creative legacy

This project pays homage to the more than fifty years of creative collaboration of Australian dance legends Graeme Murphy AO and Janet Vernon AM. Its intent is to lend substance and preserve traces of the magic of Murphy and Vernon’s unique contributions to dance, maintaining a sense of their vitality against the erasures of time.

This website offers an overview of their trajectory across national and international cultural spaces, gives a complete chronological list of Murphy’s choreographed works, and provides references to archival collections and readings for further investigation and research. It also gives access to original material, not published elsewhere, in the form of video interviews with Murphy and Vernon and many of their long-time creative collaborators.
